EUDR API Key Setup: How to request EUDR API credentials for Qarma

Before your Qarma account can communicate with the EU TRACES system (EUDR Information System), you’ll need API credentials issued by the European Commission.
These credentials allow Qarma to securely submit Due Diligence Statements (DDS) on your behalf.

1. Why this matters

EUDR API credentials connect Qarma with the official EU TRACES system.
This ensures your DDS submissions are secure traceable and compliant.

2. Requesting your API credentials

You’ll first need credentials for the ACCEPTANCE (test) environment.
Once your connection is validated, Qarma will request PRODUCTION (live) credentials on your behalf.

Step 1 – Email TRACES Support

Send a short email to request your test credentials.

Email: sante-traces@ec.europa.eu
Subject line: EUDR API – Request for credentials – [Your company name]

Example email:

Dear TRACES Support,

We would like to request EUDR API credentials for integration with TRACES NT.

Please issue credentials for the ACCEPTANCE (test) environment so we can validate our integration workflow.

Once the integration is confirmed, Qarma will request the PRODUCTION (live) credentials on our behalf.

Company: [Legal Entity Name]

TRACES NT Operator ID: [ID if applicable]

Contact: [Name, Email, Phone]

We require service account credentials for machine-to-machine use.

Thank you,

[Name / Title / Company]

Step 2 – Retrieve your username and operator information

To help Qarma complete the setup, you’ll need to retrieve your username, operator information, and web service (API) key.
 Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the Acceptance environment:
  2. Click your name in the top-right corner and select Edit Your Profile.

Step 3 – Forward details to Qarma

When you receive your credentials from TRACES Support, forward them to your Qarma contact or project manager.
 Please include:

  • Username
  • Authentication key
  • Operator information (company name, operator ID, reference number, etc.)
  • Environment type (Acceptance or Production)

Testing and going live>

TRACES NT provides two separate environments for your EUDR integration.

Acceptance (Test environment)
Use this environment to test and validate your connection. You can safely create and submit test Due Diligence Statements (DDS) here — these are not official submissions.
Access it here: https://acceptance.eudr.webcloud.ec.europa.eu/tracesnt/index

Production (Live environment)
Once testing is complete and your setup has been approved, you can move to the Production environment.
This is where all official EUDR submissions must be made.
Access it here: https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/tracesnt

4. Summary

  • Email TRACES Support to request ACCEPTANCE (test) credentials.
  • Retrieve your username, operator info, and API key.
  •  Forward all details to your Qarma contact.
  • Qarma will validate your setup and then request your PRODUCTION (live) credentials.

Once complete, Qarma automatically syncs your Due Diligence Statements (DDS) with the EU TRACES system.
